Discharge Prescribing 3: Ann Emia

This question requires exam stationery. You can use your own university stationery or find ours here.

You are the surgical SHO on the orthopaedic ward. Ann Emia has been on the ward recovering from a hip fracture. She has made good progress with her physiotherapy and is ready to be discharged. Unfortunately she is still in a lot of pain, from a combination of the recent surgery and her established osteoarthritis. She has been using regular and PRN morphine and will need to be discharged with a weeks supply prior to be reviewed in the community by her GP. Her details and current analgesia are as follows:

Ann Emia NHS 967 566 0865 DOB 30/03/1933

15 Waldren Drive
Tynemouth
Allergic to penicillin

Please prescribe the below medication on her discharge prescription.

• Paracetamol 1g QDS • Zomorph 20mg BD • Oramorph 5-10mg PRN, max 4hrly
