Mr Dennis Elbow, (DOB: 04/02/1921, hospital number MS182723), is a gentleman admitted to the orthopaedic ward at Medisense General Hospital after a fall.
He suffered a fractured neck of femur, and had an intramedullary nail put in place. He has a past medical history of recurrent falls, but no cardiac history has been identified. His rehabilitation from surgery was limited by a post operative wound infection. Two weeks following surgery, he became acutely breathless and was found unresponsive and not breathing by the ward team, at 20:34. At this point he had a DNACPR in place. You performed an examination to confirm death at 22:00.
