ABG Case 3

A 36-year-old lady suddenly deteriorates on the medical ward. She is pyrexial, tachycardic and tachopnoeic. The medical registrar checks her most recent blood tests and curses as he sees a T4 level of 40. “Do me a favour would you? Take a quick blood gas please?”
